At our retreats, we harness that same energy through our sound baths – deeply restorative sessions that use vibrations to bring body and mind back into harmony.

What is a Sound Bath?

A sound bath is a meditative experience where you’re quite literally “bathed” in sound. You simply lie down, get comfortable, and then allow waves of sound to wash over you. Instruments such as crystal bowls, chimes and ocean drums create gentle layers of vibration that ripple through the space, and through you.

There’s no melody or rhythm to follow. The sounds ebb and flow intuitively, guiding you into a state of deep relaxation. As the vibrations move through the body, they can help calm the nervous system, slow the breath and quieten the busyness of the mind.

The Science of Sound and Stillness

Everything in our universe (including us) vibrates. When our bodies and minds are under stress, those natural vibrations can fall out of balance or cause blockages. The frequencies produced in a sound bath can help restore a sense of equilibrium, releasing ‘stuck’ energy, and encouraging the body to return to its natural, more harmonious state.

Research suggests that sound therapy can lower heart rate, ease tension and reduce anxiety. But beyond science, most people simply describe feeling lighter, calmer, and more centred after a session.

The Experience During a Sound Bath

Our sound baths begin with stillness and a gentle meditation to start bringing the awareness inwards. Then, as the first tones fill the room, you might notice sensations 0 a gentle hum beneath the skin, subtle shifts in temperature or even emotional release. Some people drift into a meditative state or light sleep, while others experience a deep sense of presence and clarity.

It’s less about what you “do” and more about what you allow – allowing yourself to receive, to soften and to let go.
