Why We Always Begin Our Retreats with Yoga

At our retreats, every experience is carefully designed to help you unwind, reconnect and open yourself to deeper transformation. That’s why we always begin with a yoga session. It’s not just a gentle start – it’s an intentional foundation for everything that follows.

Creating Space: Physically and mentally

Yoga invites us to arrive fully. After travel, rushing or simply the busyness of daily life, stepping onto the mat is a moment to pause. Through mindful movement and breath, we release physical tension and mental clutter, creating space for the days ahead. When the body softens, the mind follows, and that openness is exactly what prepares us for the deeper experiences of sound and creativity to come.

Grounding the Group Energy

The first yoga session also brings everyone together. Moving and breathing in unison naturally builds connection, even without words. It helps the group settle into a shared rhythm and establishes a sense of trust and ease that carries through the retreat.

Preparing for Sound and Stillness

After yoga, guests are then more receptive to the subtler experiences that follow, like sound baths and creative workshops. A calm, grounded body enhances how we feel vibrations, sounds and emotions. The inner quiet that yoga cultivates makes the sound bath feel more immersive and the creative sessions more inspired.

A Gentle Transition into Presence

Beginning with yoga honours the transition from “everyday mode” to “retreat mode.” It’s a symbolic and physical act of stepping into presence and leaving behind distractions, tuning in to your body and connecting with the moment.

Each element of our retreats is chosen to complement the others, but yoga is the thread that weaves it all together. It’s our way of welcoming you home to yourself before we explore sound, creativity and connection in all their forms.

Are you ready to connect back to your body and breathe?
